How to be sure you aren’t missed on promotion day

With promotion day being yesterday, I can already tell that many troops were accidentally skipped over and did not receive the promotion that they deserved. Most commonly, the reason that a troop was accidentally missed, was because that troop did not make his or her presence memorable. There are dozens of Nachos who do not go on chat and simply come to the battles and visit the site daily. This is the most common way that a Nacho doesn’t receive their promotion.

One vital way to make sure that the leaders remember you is to come on Nacho chat even when a battle is not occurring. Not only does it make you seem active, but having intelligent conversations with the leaders and the Nacho community as a whole will get you recognized and remembered. Nacho chat has become a vital part of this army for communication and developing friendship in the army. It’s brought this army closer together during harmful wars that would otherwise tear us apart. Frequenting Nacho chat and trying your best to participate in conversation may be the determining factor in having a leader remember you and noticing you.

If for some reason you can not come on Nacho chat, then there are other options. In this day and age, pictures are required to be placed in the Top 10 because the CPAC reporters are too lazy to go to the actual battles themselves. They rely on the biased pictures from the attending armies, and then sift through them to determine the winner. If you, as a troop, can’t go on Nacho chat, one important thing you can do is take pictures of the events, upload them to a place like tinypic.com or photobucket.com, and then comment those pictures on the battle results posts.

Not only does this make it easier for the leaders because they don’t have to waste time taking pictures during battle, but it proves that you were at the battle. Even simply commenting on more posts is a way to show the leaders that you are active and have been attending the scheduled Nacho events.

The Nacho Leaders are teenagers and kids. They aren’t perfect, so people are often overlooked. It’s up to you to make yourself memorable to the people who determine who gets promotions. Appear active, participate on Nacho chat, and comment on posts on the Nacho site. That’s all it’s really about. Most importantly, being a Nacho should be a fun experiment. Don’t be offended if you don’t get a promotion. Instead, calmly confront Oberst or Talex and ask them why you were not  given a promotion, and give them the necessary evidence. One thing that ruins your chances of receiving a promotion is acting like a noob.

I hope this wasn’t all too complicated for you guys. I know some armies would react like this if a post like this was made on their sites:

I really hope that you take this advice so that your Nacho experience is as smooth as anything, and if you show the potential, you will one day lead this army that I have spent way too much time in. If you don’t use this advice, I know where each and every one of you lives.

Today’s Events

The Nachos have some great things in store today. First off, the restoration of Mammoth is an ongoing event this week, and will occur TODAY at 6 PM BST (London), 5 PM GMT, 1 PM EDT, 12 PM CDT, 11 AM MDT, 10 AM PDT. This event occurs at these times, and also occurs 5 hours later from the times posted above. The main part of this event is unorganized fun and chaos. Join up with a group of Nachos and fight whoever you find!

Due to our recent full acquisition of Blizzard with the death of the Shadow Troops, I would like to schedule an event on our server Blizzard. If any army would like to challenge us for the server, we will be on Blizzard at 1 AM BST (London), 12 AM GMT, 8 PM EDT, 7 PM CDT, 6 PM MDT, 5 PM PDT. The Nachos will begin at the Beach and invade the server through the Dock, Town, Snow Forts, Plaza, Forest, and Cove.  I encourage Nachos to come and help begin the process of making Blizzard an awesome Nacho server.

UPDATE YOUR NATION PAGES

I am addressing you here today to address the issue of servers. In an attempt to make a server map to organize who owns what, I realized how unreliable nation pages on army websites are. It’s just not the nation page, it’s what the armies claim to own. I’ve seen 3 armies claim to own Antarctic, Summit, Rocky Road, Cloudy, Aurora, etc. Not only is it annoying for someone trying to find out who owns what server, but there are over 100 servers now, yet the major armies can’t find their own servers to own?

Furthermore, I have advice to armies. If you find that an army claims to own your server, skip negotiations and go to war with them for that server. That will teach them to claim a server owned by you. Not only that, but it will spark a true war over a server. You know what would make for a great war? A war over just one server. I know what you’re saying, “it’s not worth it!”  When  we’re at war with an army, we invade their entire nation!” Imagine how much more fun it would be to only battle on one server and fight an entire war for one server? To constantly have unscheduled battles on one server in order give your army a gigantic presence there. Why can’t we do that? Stop invading an entire army’s nation to avoid conflict during unscheduled battles. Start wars for one particular server. The only time you should invade an entire nation is after you take down one server.

If you start campaigns to destroy an entire army before you can find out if have the ability to take even one server, then you set yourself up for disaster if you can not win the first battle. The other army will gain momentum after winning the first battle, and then take all of YOUR servers by the end of the war. You will be at the mercy of that army that you originally harassed and threatened with destruction, when you were cashing checks your body can not cash.

We have destroyed a sacred element of Club Penguin armies by building massive nations of servers that we don’t ever go on. We destroyed a center for Club Penguin armies. Mammoth is dead. There is no point in trying to revive Mammoth to be an army server. What armies do need, is a populated server that all armies can fight on just to fight. Armies nowadays just want to invade the entire nation of an army. All armies never come together unless it’s a huge and planned event. Oh, what happened to the beautiful days of constant conflict? The struggle for dominant army didn’t have to be a scheduled battle. It was ongoing  for 24 hours a day.

In conclusion, armies suck and I’m another person who doesn’t have the answer. Just rephrasing the problem.

We suck.

Meeting

Because of the new leadership, ideas must be discussed. One topic I would like to discuss is cutting severs so that we only have 2 servers which we own 100%. We need two servers to establish a base with, and to turn those servers into a completely-Nachofied town.

Under New Management

After the longest week of evaluations ever, Tan Man and I had an hour long discussion on which Nacho belongs where. We encountered many problems with a lot of people who deserved to be certain ranks, but they had a history of retiring, or they weren’t active enough. We put much thought into each person who performed in evaluation week, and we finally came to a conclusion. Here are the new high ranks for the Nacho Army.

The Past Few Days

Over the past few days, I’ve seen the workings of the new army, the leaders of the new generation of the Nachos. While each participant in this evaluation week has been efficient in ordering the army around, it’s the tactics that lack originality and creativity. Tactics in Club Penguin warfare are somewhat of an art. Your goal is to position the penguins in the army so that our army appears to have an advantage over the other army. Because we can’t be killed, you can position penguins anywhere you want, which opens up the door to thousands of tactics. I urge the high ranks who have not held a tactic session yet to come up with new ideas for tactics, and have this idea in your head. Leading is simply moving your penguins around to get the advantage.

Also, I would like to share a concept I have that I have been putting into action. During my first leadership, the Nachos only had the servers Fjord, White House, and Blizzard. Allowing the Nachos only 3 servers to go on dramatically increased our presence on each of these. For months, the Nachos would have an outstanding presence, which gave the citizens a chance to get used to us. When times of war came, and our rule over the server was questioned, these citizens who frequented the server that was being invaded, would help the Nachos because of how they became used to us. By logging onto Fjord daily, we’re establishing a strong Nacho presence, which will become vital to us in time of war. All we have to do is make sure that a rebel doesn’t come along (like Im Andreas in the Blizzard Rebellion incident) so that the people of our server do not start a movement to take us down.

Now, here are the pictures from the training sessions of the past few days. I thank all Nachos who helped out these future leaders in impressing me during their evaluations:

London Riots / Results

This post is to recognize our soldiers in the UK and around London, who may be affected by the riots currently going on in London. Your safety and general well-being is in our prayers.

and for the rest of us:

Now, for the results from August 8th’s training sessions. In total, we had 4 sessions, led by Kronos215, Talex831, Violetrox, and Wolfie. I was impressed by the talent I saw in some, but I was also disappointed by the lack of originality. It seems like each leader performs the same tactics over and over again, which may come from the fact that there was no enemy. I would like to thank every soldier who came to these sessions. Comment on this post if you were able to make it.

One tip I might add, is to change rooms if you’re running out of things to do in the Snow Forts. I hope to see some new and creative tactics over the next few days.
