• Welcome

Welcome to the Nachos! We were one of the most powerful and legendary armies in all of Club Penguin. Known for our fun and enjoyable atmosphere, we're always having a good time! Due to Club Penguin shutting down, the army is mostly inactive. However, our older members tend to keep in touch using discord. You can join using the following link.

How to Handle Nulls on Chat

Fun Fact: Through our combined recruiting efforts we were able to officially bring in over 21 soldiers in one day, most of whom visited our chat and got to meet their leaders and fellow soldiers. If we continue on this path we will be on our road to dominance in no time.

When we are busy recruiting on Club Penguin, we like to leave the chat box all over the site so new recruits can easily find it and communicate with us making it easier for them to join. The problem is Xat isn’t exactly new-user friendly and makes it overly complicated for new users to join the chat. I made this post to help all of our soldiers better understand how to help them to join the chat.

For starters everyone needs to know that if a user or an account that has never visited an Xat chat before joins a chat room, they will be a null user. How do you know who is a null user? They are always guests and when you click on their user, they will not have an ID. No name or numbers, just a blank space where most people’s ID’s would be. They will also carry one of Xat’s default usernames. Their default usernames are really cheesy and strange names. Examples include:

  • SnooglePuff
  • LoverFoof
  • GoobleBoo
  • etc.

The number one thing you need to know when a null user is online is do not member them. If you member them, you have to kick them from the chat in order for them to rejoin which makes it way more complicated. This also stops you from telling them how to join in the most effective way possible.

So how do we instruct these users to join? We leave a lot of tips around the chat box on the website, but sometimes users still just do not understand. I have found the most effective way to help a new recruit out is to private message them. Don’t private chat them because many new recruits won’t understand that they need to click on the little box with the green message alert.

When you private message them, you can instruct them to do two things:

  • Tell them to type anything in the box that says “Type Here” and press enter
  • Tell them to click their default name and remind them that they are the top right user

I usually tell them to type in the chat box because that is simpler and more direct to a brand new user. Here is an example of me private messaging a new user on how to join:

It is as simple as that. I add the smiley face for a slice of hospitality.

I’ve noticed people mishandle nulls and I was starting to grow worried that we were losing nulls, especially when we kick them from a chat which they may take as a sign of rejection. Thank you for reading this post. We have been bringing in tons of new soldiers to the army and I would like to finish this post by welcoming all our new soldiers to the Nachos! Adios amigos.
